On a July 23 we arrived at Echouani Lake to practice our favorite sport "Walleye Fishing". I was anxious to ask Raymond if the fish were biting. I will always remember his answer. "It's not bad for this time of year".
We all caught walleye and pike on our first day out. The small one's were thrown back but the good sized one's were kept to savor later back at our cottage. Or course, we can't forget my 20 pound pike that was the envy of all of my group.
The next day was our shore lunch. It was worth the trip from the United States to see the expression on my buddies face when I arrived with my 12 pound walleye. My two trophies were the topic of conversation for a long time.
To tell you the truth this is my eleventh trip to Richer Lodge. We are always delighted but this trip was our best one yet. I can hardly wait till next year.
